I'm throwing a service engine soon light that reads P0105 MAP Baramator circuit malfunction. YES IT READS AS MAP!!? Don't know why, but it does. I was thinking about replacing the MAF(97) with another one out of a 95. Any suggestions on a fix. Car seems to be running fine (70mph test) and starts-up without any problems. I find this very odd. Thanks for the help.

Your car does infact have a MAP sensor. However it is only used for EVAP self diagnostics.[OBDII self checks] Check the vaccum hose to it, if thats ok its probably a dead sensor. Take a voltage measurement out of the center wire on the map sensor. Voltage should go up as vaccum goes down. When you throttle it.

Can you tell me where and which one is the sensor....I see two...they are in between the upper and lower intake manifolds towards the back.. one is a long cylinder like shape with a square base and the other one is a purple plug, I think.

thanks for your help

It is mounted near the front of the right strut tower in the engine compartment. It has a gray 3 wire connector to it and a vaccum hose under it.
