i am new here, so nobody laugh, I am needing info on my car. i have a 1997 240 SX with 90K miles. It is automatic. For the last 6 years I have hardly driven it, it has been in the garage because i had a baby and i bought a more practical car. My Nissan has been a dream but I just dont need it anymore. My sister put it on Craigs list and the best offer she got was 5 grand. Seriously?

Trim? Condition? Options?

Based on some guesswork, KBB says it's worth about that much, but you'll have to look up similar cars in your area to find the actual market price.

If the car is in fantastic condition, it may be worth around $6000. But it is a very desireable car and it's street value may exceed it's actual bluebook value. This is what we call 'drift tax'. If you want, you could be an ***hole and charge an exorbitant price and eventually, some rich fanboy will come along and pay it.

But if you want cash fast, I'd say between $5500 - $5800 to be fair.

Heres more info, the car is located in Charlotte NC. Its a 240 SE, has the spoiler on the back. It has a scuffed bumper which you can only see if you are right up on it, (its only a couple of inches) but just being honest, no other damage or wear, inside or out Cloth interior with moon roof, automatic window and door locks, CD changer, power seats. No rust. Bought it in CA from a dealer in 2001. but then moved east where it just sat in the garage most of the time, Ive never needed any work on it, I just made sure to have regular oil change and tune ups/tires. I would just take it out occasionally to give it some attention. I dont need the money right away. Thanks for your replys.

I am new here, I asked this question previously, but didnt get alot of response. Hers more details. i have a 1997 Nissan 240 SX/Se, Automatic, cloth interior, sunroof, power windows/seats/locks/CD changer, 92000 miles, no rust, not driven much in the last 6 tears because I had another car and a growing family. It does have a scuffed bumper but other than that is in excellent condition. Ive never needed any work done to it other than regular oilchange/tune ups. ive got an offer of 6500 and thats the highest. Im in no big rush to sell it but if thats the best I can get and will waiting longer will get me less ? Thanks for any advice.

$5000 sounds about right for a stocker auto 97 240sx. Make sure to post pics, and any upgrades to the car.
