I'm ready to add the transmission fluid cooler tomorrow. I've been looking for the flow direction in the FSM but couldn't find it. My guess is it would have the same flow direction as the coolant. That means the transmission fluid, inside the stock transmission cooler, would flow from the passenger side to the driver side. Is that correct? Would someone let me know? Thanks!

Seems that way to me and how I have my B&M70264 hooked up in series.

Look for pictures under my board name in Member's Rides Gallery.

I recently installed the B&M cooler using the Maxnix Method. If you have access to Infinity's FSBs, take a look at the "Service Procedure" in 00-042A. It relates to the factory's recommendation for cleaning the OE ATF cooler in the radiator of various year/models, which must be accomplished from the outlet side. the bulletin provides flow diagrams and year/model charts for reference as the flow direction varies by model and year. The ATF flow direction chart tells you which diagram is yours and is a little confusing to me. My reading of it is that the ATF enters the radiator cooler on the passenger side and exits back to the tranny on the driver's side on all Q45's from 1990 to 2001 model/year, indicating that what Max advises is correct.

Hmmm...all I have is this TSB, which is a good example why FSM alone is not sufficient!

Brian,

Your TSB post is the one that KingKarl is referring to - it is ITB00-042a.
