1996 S14 W/ S15 SR20DET I am currently stationed overseas in japan going home in 1 week then flying to pick up this car then drive it like 1200 miles so i kinda want a speedometer. The owner doesnt know what transmission is in the car so im guessing its the original KA mission i know it is indeed a 5 speed. I read that it depends on the gauge clusters. If i have left something out that is important just call me a newb cause i honestly am and will be the first to tell you. This is my first 240sx, i have owned it 2 weeks and still havent sat inside the vehicle. (please help me speedracer)

If you have the S14 gauge cluster, just use the s14 speed sensor.

No, use a KA transmission speed sensor.

S14 sensor is what you need. S14 KA and S14 SR are the same. If it is a 5 speed then its probably a 5 speed SR since the KA has a different bellhousing shape.

If its a 6 speed you are in some trouble since even though there is a hole for speed sensors, there is no gear in the transmission for it to sync up with.
