I noticed right after I had my slave & master cylinder replaced a slight RPM jump when in third gear. Lately it has gotten worse. Everytime I speed up after changing gears my RPM's go crazy. Today when I was in second gear it jumped from 2000 to 3500....and eventually settled down and was fine. Anyone have an idea what I should do? Or what the problem could be. I don't drive my car hard, but I do like to drive it...and I love the power it can offer me at times.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!!

I posted this in a different board, sorry for the double posting...but this is where I meant for it to go.

Does it feel like the clutch is slipping? or does the car actually surge forward when the rpms jump?

I don't think it feels like the clutch slipping. It feels like it surges forward.....that's a pretty fair description.

An example: When driving around a curve that I need to slow down from 35 to 15 mph, I use to just coast along in the same gear....and if I needed to, then down-shifted. Now when I slow down or speed up my RPM's jump around and yes it feels like it surges forward but not enough to jerk. It's like it searching for something. I hope this helps. I can try to provide more details if needed.

Thanks Again!!!!

I try to relate mechanics to computers. And well as crazy as it might seem it works for me. :ylsuper

do as palmer said in your other post and see if moving the airflow herness effects it also. something I have done my self is leave the intake boot loose on the throttle body. check the clamp on the boot and make sure its tight.

You not far off in trying to relate your car to a computer either. it is a series of inputs that determine the outputs. quik little example here is your airflow meter sees an increase in air it tells the ecm[computer] and the computer responds by increasing the pulse width on the injector[open time to dispurse fuel] The major difference is your car moves several mechanical parts were as you computer does not other then the drives.
