I am really stumped on this one. After replacing the battery I tightened the positive battery terminal connector and.....yes....you guessed it. The darn thing snapped. I really don't want to replace the entire positive battery cable. I'd much rather simply replace the brass/copper end. Searched Ebay and the web for end replacements but with no luck. Suggestions?? many thanks Smokey

NO, I'm referring to the "from the factory" positive cable which has the cable to the starter and the two smaller wires. At the end of that cable there is a 10mm nut/bolt assembly which tightens (in a clamp like fashion) the cable to the positive terminal of the battery. Unfortunately that clamp is made of very thin brass/copper material which is highly susceptible to corrosion. As I noted I really don't want to replace the entire cable - if it can be repaired with a replacement clamp that seems to be the most cost effective and logical way to go. Chopping the cable and then securing it under a flat clamp as shown in the photo you provided has never been successful for me. thanks: Smokey

Our 95 broke the same way. I got a replacement similar to original, and put the terminal for the other 2 wires on the bolt. I may have had to bend it, I don't recall. It's been a few months since it happened.

Persistence pays off. I went to the Villager Quest Yahoo Group and the owner Randy Peterson provided a link to a fix which avoids cutting any cable. I tried to improve on the method Mr. Peterson provided by using a brass terminal connector, but unfortunately our "friends" in China make the brass terminal for the positive post of the battery way too small AND it's impossible to expand the terminal to fit without snapping the brass. So I reverted to the heavy duty lead terminal connector and followed Mr. Peterson's link to success. Here it is: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/vil ... 1846831001
I'm back up and running, BUT I plan to get at least two replacement cables the next time I'm at the wreckers. Hope this link helps others.
