The wife left the vanity light on mistakingly over night. Gotta Jump. Ran around the block so battery could charge. Car dies in the middle of the ride. Tried to start. Car starts up again for 5 seconds twice. Then nothing. I'm getting a crank but wont turn over. I took the fuel pump out and hot wire tested it. It pumps. How do you run Self Diagnostic when the car will not turn over? I appreciate any help on this matter. Thanx in advance.

Didn't you have another thread someplace about the problems leading up to this?

In your previous thread, people mentioned the fuel filter might need a checking as well. However, coming on the heels of an electrical drain, that does introduce other potential problems that I'm not qualified to give you answers on.

My first suggestion would be to make sure you trickle-charge the battery up, check/replace your fuel filter, and keep discussing things here. Just try and be patient and try not to get too torqued if people give you advice in a snarky fashion. Q45tech is a great resource among many, too.

If I were to throw out any suggestion at all, I'd also suggest checking the alternator. If you have a low battery and a dead/dying alternator or other charging components, that could cause symptoms like these.

This thread is different in that the battery is not claimed to be recharged.

Pretty much of a double post, though.
