A friend of mine works for a commercial leasing company and I went by to see him the other day. I did a double take when I saw a Q on the lot. These guys mainly lease commercial trucks etc so it kind of surprised me. Any way it is a 96 Q with 107000 miles on her. Green with tan leather. The car had not been detailed. The interior had some wear on the armrest, etc but it appeared to be in decent shape other than some cosmetic stuff. He said they are asking $8,500.00 for it. The car is at GT Leasing in Jax, FL ( 904-398-5000). if anybody is interested. I don't have any idea if that is a good price or not. I thought I would pass it along

Unfortunately, the 96Q is about the least sought after Q out there!!!

Why's that? No VVT? I always assume the last year in a generation is the most desired because of the fewest bugs.

96 Q was the first year for OBD-II. Slightly less power, but the car is just as good as a 94-95.

I kind of get the impression that Nissan decided to do whatever they needed to get the last Q45 of that style out the door in anticipation of the new body style in 1997. It's just amazing to me that they did away with the VVT when many other mfgrs. started using it to meet OBDII requirements! Sounds like a major shortcut to me...

According to Q45tech, they really didn't have time to tune it for the new standard, and it was just for 1996.

On the other hand, with less camshaft overlap and no advance on the intake camshafts, the OBDII might make this the best G50 candidate for supercharging.
