I have a 96 nissan pickup. Once the truck warms up it's starts idling rough and stalling once you push the clutch in. I have replaced the distributor and the fuel pump/sending unit. the check engine light is on the codes are o2 sensor and purge valve canister. We disconnected the o2 sensor and the truck ran good for a while then started acting up again. I wanted to know if I need to replace the mass air flow sensor or maybe the air temperature sensor?

You might have a vacuum leak or have a problem with the IAC valve. Try cleaning your throttle body and see if that helps.

We have replaced both O2 sensors and the throttle position sensor too. It acts like it has a short some where in the vehicle. It will run fine for a while and then it just acts like you took it from 5th gear and put it in 2nd gear. Then it sputters and just wont run right. It only does it when the truck gets warms. We were questioning the spark plug wires too.

It could be the plug wires or plugs.Does it act up under a load only?

It acts up no matter what we are doing. It usually has to run for about an hour before it does it. My fiance drives it and he has a half an hour ride to work on a good day. It usually starts about 2miles from his Job. He is a Mechanic and this has him baffled. We have put so much into this and we have to keep putting more into it cause we can't figure it out. The only code it is throwing is O2 sensors and we have done them. Next is deffinitly the plugs and wires.

I am thinking that it might be the catalytic converter, but let us know how it does after you replace the plugs and wires.

How many miles? I have a 96 as well and My O2 sensors went and my mass airflow went all at the same time around 120k-ish. If it is the MAF it will usually throw the code though but i suppose you could pick up a cheap one off ebay and see what happens. I have been using one for a year now and it is still doing good. From the way the truck is acting it sounds like what I dealt with when my MAF was failing so it may be worth a try. It could also be a loose wire someplace I had one of those last fall too :D
