Hi my step son has this car with 199K on it, it idles fine but as you approach 40mph the engine get louder an seems to lose power. He had driven it with low oil awhile back but we added some an its been fine for the last 4-5 months. Not sure if its the end of the road for the car or something else. I know its not easy to diagnose over the internet but appreciate any help.

Throwing any codes? Midrange power loss could be any number of things. I'd start with the basics. When were the plugs last changed? It amazes me how many people don't even think about plugs these days. Check all the electrical connectors, things get old dirty and brittle. if none of the obvious help i'd have a look at the cas or the PTU.
