hey guys, i have a 1996 maxima, recently i noticed the temperature gauge next to the gas tank gauge, started going up all the way to H after driving for like 15 min, then it would go down as i slowed down...theres no way the engine's temp fluctuated that much within seconds, whats wrong with my car?? is it the thermostat?? thanks in advance

My guess would be a bad temp sensor.

Agree with maxhopper

Use common sense too see if engine is too hot, check coolant etc
