Requesting maintenance schedule for 1996 Maxima with over 100,000 miles. The Owners Guide only lists maintenance up to 60,000 miles. Also, need to know what historically can go wrong with car (timing belt, oxygen sensor, worn belts and hoses, fuel pump, water pump, etc.) Any input will be much appreciated. Thank you. Michael Po

VQ is not timing belt it is timing chain. you would want to look at your belts to see if there worn, pcv valve if you have not already done that, fuel filter, water pump maybe, spark plugs, engine and transmission fluid change, valve cover gasket maybe. do you have any leaks anywhere. what have you had done to the car already?

also, check your radiator for any cracks near the filler neck. AT or MT? if AT, be careful with trans flush/service. i serviced mine and about 20K miles later, my trans started slipping. definitely what presscott says, pcv valve, plugs, fuel filter and belts. keep an eye on starter, trans, water pump, and rack and pinion.
