Greetings all;

Recently I've noticed a delay in my TC locking up at highway speeds. Are there some pre-requisites for this to occur; i.e. trans temp, etc? I believe the transmission was serviced at 60k and she just clicked over 74k. No lights to note on the dash.

TIA!

Mine doesn't lock up until completely warmed up.

Thx Yoda!!!! I guess I really never noticed it. I'm going to dig around with the service manual pdf that I came across and validate this fact.

The Q45 transmission doesn't shift into 4th (Over Drive) until the transmission is warmed up (Fluid reaches a certain point). So I assume it will also not lock the Torque Converter till a certain temperature as well.

Not to be rude but I let my car warm up to 177*F whenever I can.

And that's probably why I haven't noticed it. I usually do let her warm up for 10 mins b4 I go anywhere. I had a job in Tucson this past week and it would lock up after 5-7 miles on the freeway.
