1996 infiniti i30

I am gettin ready to fix the problem I have on my car. it is the p0446 code which is the evap system..I read it might have something to do with the charcoal canister. and that it is probably waterlogged. but before I start I want to make sure that is the problem. Im not sure where to start. do I just change teh canister and hop ethat was the problem? I read many forums on this but it really doesnt pin point the problem. I need help fast. Im driving aroudn with a rejection sticker. any help would greatly be appreciated. p0446 code

any idea how much it might cost to fix this problem.

It's going to depend on how much the mechanic charges per labor hour, and what components need to be replaced. From that thread, it appears as though it could be the Evap canister or a vent valve.
