Hello, I currently own a 1996 Infiniti i30 with 122k miles on it. The car drives and handles amazing but I currently have the following problems from a check engine light.

P1445: Manufactured Controlled Auxiliary Emission ControlsP1105: Manufactured Controlled Fuel and Air Metering

My yearly inspection is coming up and the car won't pass with a check engine light on according to N.C. laws. Does anyone know how easy these 2 problems are to fix?

Any tips appreciated

Welcome to NICO! I don't have access to Mitchell at home so when I get back to work tomorrow I'll take a look and see what it says.

Awesome :D

I have been trying to look up some more information on my own but I'm not that experienced with cars... trying to learn but it's hard :p

I found this website through another Nissan forum site I'm wondering if this would help anyone: http://boredmder.com/ecucodes/index.php

I got this when I put in the 1445 code:

This was from the P1105 code:

Ah ok. The 1445 is the Purge Control Valve. That's located on the EVAP canister and is held on by two 10mm bolts. Be careful as 9 of 10 times, the bolts are rusted into the canister and it can crack the canister itself. The other code is the MAP sensor. I'm not certain the location of the sensor but I'm sure I can find it for you.

Be very careful when you use such site as the fault code you get may not apply to your car, leading you to replace the wrong part.

Kenny is correct about the codes. For the Evap Purge Control Valve, (P1445) make sure you check the Evap Canister tubes/hoses for any leak or loose fitting. Label the tubes/hoses if you are going to disconnect them to avoid mistake in reconnection.

For the other code. P1105, it actually refers to the MAP/Baro Switch Solenoid Valve. It's controlled by the ECM and when turned ON (energized) allows monitoring of ambient pressure and when OFF, the ECM receives intake manifold pressure. So the problem may be due to the solenoid valve, related harness/connector/tubes or the MAP sensor. Refer to the FSM (Factory Service Manual) and look for trouble code P1302 (P1105) starting on page EC-325. It provides description, component location and diagnostic info.

Just checked out the parts for the P1445 code everything looks okay. Should I simply replace the part anyway or is there a test I could do?

If you want to do further fault isolation, start with page EC-319 (DTC 1008/P1445) in the link provided above.

Been working on it this week and I was wondering if there is a way to clean out the purge fuel tank canister or does anyone know a site where I could buy one?
