I bought a I30 from a transmission shop...new trans...guy skipped on the bill.

Brought it home & it ran fine... parked it for a while & the battery died (new battery/recharged fine).

Recharged it & IT WOULDN'T START.

$500 later had fuel pump & crank sensor changed ....running & driving very well.

Then one day back to cranks but won't start?

I've changed plugs & fuel filter/ checked for spark(o.K.).

Talked to Joe in arizona & he said "might be tha MAF"?

Any ideas???? HELP ME PlEASE?????

It would probably start (but run crappy) if it was the MAF. It could be the MAF, but I'd also check the coils and the FPR. I'm assuming that it cranks but does not fire?

Just a thought, check the EGR valve.

i dont think either the MAF or EGR would cause a no start condition...

are you getting fuel??? I wonder if you have a funky ground or something..

I checked for spark & fuel ...both are O.K.

After researching this website & others....I think that it bmight be va bad ground???

I found a section in the Fsm that gives the resistances of the sensors....will this help?

What is the FPR?

Please help?????

It sounds like you have a short to ground somewhere, or a possible bad alternator.

What you'll want to due is use the FSM to check what the voltages should be at locations throughout the main harness.

FRP = fuel pressure regulator

Well I Measured the coils & the injectors....O.K..Voltages O.K.

Found loose connections on starter solenoid & cleaned bbattery connections.

running-out of ideas?

Will check fuel pressure next....engine is flooding.

Is it possible that I popped the ECM & how do I check it?
