Hello, newby here, I checked the search's for this issue, but still having trouble.

Getting P0135 & P0155, Heated oxygen sensors, both @ same time. cleared the codes, they come right back, together. Also intermittet P0136, rear oxygen sensor.

Checked fuse, ok.

new starter.

new brake light switch.

using 91 octane gas

transmission shift / lock sticks sometime's.

Is there any problem that could be causing all / part's of this ?

Possibly something damaged when I changed starter ?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

JC

Fuses was MISSING, darn mechanic took them out to check if any were blown, & put the fuse back in a spare slot instead of O2 fuse position..

The Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) generally lasts 100K miles, more or less, depending on the environment it is operated and the contaminants that gets in to it. But for them to fail simultaneously is a remote possibility.

You said that your mechanics erroneously placed the fuse for the O2 sensor heater to the SPARE slot. This fuse #34 (15A) provides power to the Heated Oxygen Sensor heating element. The ECM controls the power to the heater (ON if <3600 RPM OFF is >3600 RPM. The ECM checks the current (voltage drop) across the heating element when it is ON. Since the fuse #34 was removed, then no heater power was applied and therefor the ECM triggered DTC P0135 (Front Right Bank HO2S) and P0155 (Front Left Bank HO2S). Resetting the ECM should clear those faults (assuming the O2 sensors are OK).

The intermittent P0136 (Rear HO2S) either indicates excessive voltage from the O2 sensor or it's not able to reach min/max voltage or very slow response. This may be a problem with the O2 sensor itself, the related harness/connector, fuel pressure, injector or intake leaks. Since you replaced the starter, it's possible that you inadvertently introduced air intake leak. Check all the fittings between the air filter box and the throttle body. You can use a carb cleaner and spray on the fittings and listen for engine response. If the problem persisted, then most likely the O2 sensor is failing. There is a procedure in the FAQ 'sticky' within this forum on how to replace the Rear HO2S (downstream of cat).

Best pricing for O2 sensor is from "NGK.com" a.k.a. "sparkplugs.com." If you know the part number (available from NGK.com) you can check with Amazon.com and may get lower pricing.
