i have a 1996 hardbody with the ka24e motor..the engine got wet in a flood..i changed the ecu, all fluids etc.. and got it running but number 3 cylinder is dead.am getting fuel and compression but no fire... i have checked cap and rotor and wiresand plug but what is wierd is i get no fire from the wire UNLESS one of the other 3 is disconnected also..if you have the other 3 connected then it stops firing..is this an internal dist. problem? this truck had over 6ft of water in it so i understand it could be anything..but i think we have it narrowed down to the dist. or possibly ecu.even though the ecu is a good test unit bought from a nissan tech. thank you

The only thing it can be is cap, rotor or wire. take a good look at the inside of the cap. See if there are any carbon tracks or and white arch marks in it. also take the rotor off and look inside of where it slides on the distributor shaft. see if there is any white residue in there.
