Hi All,I love car forum's these are the best places to get information.. Looking for a car for my son, I have spied a 1996 G20 with 96,000 miles on it..

As with any car there are common problems, can you guys let me know any weak points in the car and any common problems associated with this year..I see the G 20 has been around since 1992, so I would imagine all the improvements have been made up until 1996.. Just want to see if anything I should be scared of.. I know Nissan's are very good, I love my 98 Maxima, rock solid car!

Thanks

They actually started the P10 in 1991. P10 is the series you're looking at, P for Primera which is what they sold them as everywhere else. Anyways, the windows are a place of a lot of interest. They seem to fail often so make sure they all work and if its going slow in one direction consider that something is already broken. The sunroof, if so equipped, sometimes have some problems too. Really you're looking at an 11 year old car, just make sure that everything works.

I LOVE my '91 G20! Best car I've driven in a while. I was gonna buy a NEWER model G20, but heard they were not as "fun" to drive (as far as suspension tuning goes). The only continuous problem I've noticed is that it doesn't like A/C compressors (but I've had this 2.0 liter engine in 2 previous cars, '96 200sx SE-R and '98 Sentra SE, and they all had this issue). I have had no other unusual problems. My A/C compressor still cools, it's just that the bearing inside seems to wear out prematurely, and the more you mess with the belt (taking it on and off to do other repairs) the worse it gets. Eventually it'll lock up if you don't replace it. Just watch the Compressor and you'll be ok! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend these cars. Good Luck!!!
