1996 G20 - how do you pull codes

Use an OBDII reader, Autozone will do it if you want. I'm not sure where the connector is on a G though, check under the driver's side of the dash.

i found the consolt port but cant find the obdII even though the fsm says its under the LH dash panel

Try around/under the glovebox.
