1996 240sx S14 KA24DE Check Engine Light, motor jumping around

My check engine light went on today and when I come to a stop the motor just jumps around like if its going to turn off on me. The check engine light went on. It just keeps jumping around.. Any help on this? Could it be the motor mounts?

Defiantly not motor mount unless one somehow tore apart. Get a mechanic to check the code if it just came on.The only few things I can think of are spark plug or 2 burned out causing an imbalance. Does it feel like it lost all of its power?

To locate the bad cylinder pull off one plug wire at a time while the motor is idling; there will be no effect on idle quality when the bad cylinder is found. With the wire off the plug of the bad cylinder, plug in a spare and lay it on top of the valve cover to see if you're getting a spark. If ignition is OK, then there's an injector problem.

Thanks guys, I did this and one of the plugs wasn't working so I got a new plug and installed it and now the car is running good, its just that the check engine light is still on.

Great to hear its all fixed! The check engine light will stay on because of the behavior until you rest the ECU or turn it off via consult. *reset the ecu by unpluging the battery for awhile then plugging it back in. Some people say for a few minutes other say up to 20.
