Alright! So I bought a 96 240sx that has a rb20det swap in it the other day. I was told that the car has 550cc injectors(idk), and a front mount intercooler but was stock otherwise than that. First thing I noticed was the obvious boost leak. So I found and replaced the coupler that had the gash in it.

Moving on from that, I found some company named Twisted motion that sells a few parts for the rb20. Any info on them or experiences would be great. Anyways, they have a bolt on turbo that I'll get just to try them out. Its $400 bucks so it's not that much. I'll be needing a coil pack upgrade as well. Whenever I'm on long trips, if I turn off the car, it won't start until it cools down.

A few things on the car do not work.
--temp gauge... It just always blinks red...
--boost gauge... Does nothing at all
--A/F gauge... Also does nothing at all...

Otherwise than that it's a great car.

Future upgrades
--turbo(of course)
--brakes
--MAF
--Limited slip diff

Cant think of anything else at the moment. Cheers! :dblthumb:

So for brakes I will be going with the Full big brake kit from Arizona Z Car. They have a 6 piston caliper for sale that's only $1400 for the fronts and $800 for the 4 piston rears.

When you say it wont start after it's hot? the car won't crank? or it cranks but won't fire over?

It doesn't crank or anything. All the accessories and whatnot work, but the starter doesn't engage.

No I Haven't gotten it tested as yet. I figured it might be the starter that was going bad. I'm trying to diagnose a few other electrical problems before I move on to that. Like my temp gauge... The red warning light just keeps blinking, and it doesn't show anything. :wtf2: The boost gauge just doesn't move at all... there is a signal going to it, so I'm not sure why it doesn't work....

Auto correct fail. Check the wiring, also look for the map sensor to the gauge. Hope your not missing the sensors.

Yea I'll check it out in the morning, But everything should be there. I didn't trace any of the wires, but a quick visual inspection showed that they were all there.

Checked everything for the gauges... Still nothing... Moving on... I'm trying to change out all the split and or cracked hoses on the rb20, but I can't find the hoses anywhere.

You can get a new starter from autozone for like $70 no core, but they might have to order it.

My friend has been building my RB20 project slowly, cuz I work all the time. But He came across a Canadian guy who found a matching part for the US guys who need rb20 starters. Its actually a starter from a nissan forklift, they had 3 different brands when I went up there, I got the most oem looking one, and it seems to bolt up fine. I won't know how it cranks till next weekend when I put it on the engine hoist and put the flywheel, clutch, and trans on the block.

The part number he found was 23300-00 h10

Thanks Breadbox, I got a new starter so its fine now. I think I might have burned out the clutch on the car. I was at the track and did six perfect runs... On the seventh run, corner two, the car backfired and started blowing smoke... and stopped. :gotme
