I have a 1996 240sx that needs a new chassis harness, (if I’m getting the name wrong I mean the harness that controls all of the accessories like wipers/lights/sunroof etc) and I can’t seem to find barely any information about how to install a new one, or let alone find one for sale. I know wiring specialties has a chassis harness for the s13, but A.) I’m not sure if that would work with my s14, and B.) it’d be nice if I didn’t have to spend nearly 4,000 to get a new harness, but I understand if that’s my only real option.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, really I’m just trying to figure out where I can buy/find one of these things and Installation I can do by myself. Thanks!

The harness under the dashboard is the Main Harness, not chassis or body. I count seven different variants for it on a '96, all out of production. There are two ways to identify the one you have. First you can find the harness tag, usually located under one of the kick panels or near the fusebox. It will have a number on it, 24010-xxxxx. The second way is to plug your VIN into this website and see which Main came with the vehicle:

Once you know the right Nissan part number, you can check Amayama and other parts sources to see if you can locate one. I wouldn't get your hopes up, past about 20 years harnesses of any kind usually become sold out worldwide and aftermarket/custom becomes your only option.
