Does anyone have a clue where I can get this shift knob? It comes on the 1995 Stillen SMZ Limited Edition 300zx. Do any of the Nissan dealerships have any in stock? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

It was an exclusive item from Stillen and has been discontinued for several years, your only shot is used and they are few and far between. The last one I remember online used brought over $200.

Hmmm damn that sucks. It's a very attractive shift knob. O hey Tim, I've heard so much about your short shifter kits that you produce... I may be interested in one for my Z, if this is indeed you who produces them. How much does that kit run?

It is me, I haven't made any for a while but I have received several inquiries recently so I will likely be making up a batch in the near future. I charge $55 shipped plus the return of a stock shifter as a core.

i've been on the hunt for a smz shifter for over a yr now so i desided to just remove the leather and carbon fiber my stock piece...the rubber underneith is actually suprizingly solid and should hold up very well

Ya that's a pretty smooth idea... however, I found someone on TT.net who buys great quality replicas from a Japanese company and sells them (only difference is: there isn't a little "SMZ" name plate at the base of the shifter.) Here's the link: http://www.twinturbo.net/net/v...19351 $150 and no labor of doing the CF yourself!!

O lol the pic of the yellow interior is not my car. I haven't done my interior yet but I will be doing it soon. As far as the yellow vinyl, there are a couple of different kits that you can get and put on your self.

There are many many different options you can use. A good reputable company that does awesome work is: http://www.katzkin.com/05/FC/mainFS.html As a general rule, I try to stay away from eBay as much as I can, unless you need used stock replacement parts.

can you still do that? how are they made? i may be interested relatively soon if i get some good feedback from other users about it. the other one i'd get would be the AMS for $100. sorry to bring up an old thread!

how is the weight of it? I'm one who likes a heavy shift knob so I hope it still a good steel core...

I agree here. I like the shifter to feel... substantial.

The weight is a bit heavier than stock I believe and feels pretty solid. It sure makes shifting to each gear very smooth and controlled.
