I wouldnt suggest sticking your fingers into the exhaust manifold, one day you might be a finger short, LOL NO no NO no NO.

Make sure you get pics of the cut wires.

And you were asking about that oil relocater. Rb25's think have stock oil cooler, goes between block and oil filer. I cant find a picture of rb25, but think rb26 have it too, but I'm not 100% sure. RB20's dont have this.

So what are the plans? Gonna build it up at all, or just tear down for inspection?

By the way you got a Series 1 Rb25 because of the ignitor on the COP cover and MAF(mass air flow meter) should have a green sticker if Series 1, pink color is for Series2 and NEO's.

I spy BLITZ BOV , might cause trouble when idling or on deceleration, you might want to recirculate it back to intake if you run into problems.

Just going to tear it down, replace gaskets, but it back in as a stock motor.

Pics of cut harness:

Its the piece of the ahrness farthest to the left in this pic, right next to the cabinet.

And about the stock oil coller, yes my RB has one. The secondary aftermarket oil coller is just screwed onto the stock fitting.

Day 2:

Painted the block flat black with high temp enamel. Silver head, once again, high temp. Exhaust manifold and turbo hot side, flat black, high temp. Valve covers are an extremely dark blue. Front timing cover is also gloss black.

Still more work to be done, but its getting there.

Marc's work on polishing the turbo...

I like this pic...

Mocked up...

And at the end of the day...I had some extra paint. Flame as you must, but I think its *%&**%&**%&**%&*in bad a**. Nobody will ever see it, but Ill know its there :xxrofl:

NICE man!! FYI I dobut that high temp paint will last at all on the manifold or exhaust housing. I tried some on my heat shield and the turbo cooked it off in two days.

ICE, what do you mean>

Anyways its 2000* paint, I got high hopes, lol.

Anyways, heres and update on the harness issue...

OK so I got ahold of Chris at Osaka today and this is the deal.He said isntead of having me send the harness back to them, and then them sending me another one, that I should find a shop to repair the harness, get a quote, and then Osaka would pay me that amount to fix the harness.

Should I do it? Opinions?

First shop that came to mind was Raw Brokerage, as they seem pretty legit and recommended on here. This is the email that I sent them.

Hey guys I got a question for you.

I ordered a motor from Osaka JDM Motors. Its an RB25DET Series 1. When I got the motor, part of the harness was cut. Right past the grommet, on the engine bay side. It kinda branches off from the main harness.. Its about 10-15 wires.

I contacted them and they said instead of having me send the harness to them, that I should find someone to repair the harness for me, and that they would send me the money to pay the repair shop.

So Im wondering, do you guys repair harnesses, and to get a quote would I have to send it to you guys?

Let me know, thanks!!!

What he said to me was they'd deposit the money into my account before I send it out/once i got the quote.

Think I should just tell them I want a new harness?

All Chris said, the guy that I talked to, is find a shop that can repair harnesses, get the price from them, and they'd deposit the money into my paypal.

Glad you like the trans, thinking of doing the oil pan the same way

Awesome looking block.

If I had the time to really dig into mine the way you are, I would be so much happier with the way it looks.

You will love your RB.Just don't kill two MAFs by over boosting them like me

I was just joking around, And when i say ice, i mean Water in its solid state.

I dunno sometimes i just type, the blue reminded me of ice haha.

Mr.man said the paint would not hold up to the heat and i said there is ice to keep it cold.

But ya, Dude i was going to suggest sending an e-mail to broadfield and see if he would have enough time to get something like this done for you. I think he has been very busy with his business so e-mail him and find out. His electrical work is MMMMMMMMMAAAAAAZZZZZZZIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGGG and if Osaka is willing to pay for the job you can count on it getting done right the first time with broadfield.

Good Luck whatever you do.

One Love,

Ghasty

I fallowed the directions on the 2000* paint and it will come off unless you wait a week for the resins to cure than repaint again. 2 lite coats 1 heavy wait 7 days repaint now paint will stay!

My exhaust paint hasn't peeled, faded or discolored in over a year. It looked great until I repainted it only because I heat wrapped the stock cast iron exhaust manifold and down pipe. Now my turbo spools faster and my engine bay is alot cooler.
