My 1995 Q45 will not go into Drive, its feels like im in neutral. I then have to put it into 3rd and drive it for about 15 seconds and then it will drive fine in the D position. Its driving me Crazy!!! does anyone know what it could be (besides a new transmission)

Thanks John

hey....finally another Miami member. We have another member on here "Fastlane" and then myself. If you ever see me running around town in my Q let me know...live on the beach and work in Brickell. Sorry to hear the transmission might be shot. I just put in a LevelTen transmission and like it a lot as it shift very tightly smooth now. Cost was $3,500 in total, Yeouch!!

btw...where do you have your Q serviced? I have only been using the dealer thus far which is sometimes good and sometimes a real pain in the wallet as they love to charge me for anything they can dream up.

Does it count if you lived in Miami? I grew up in Miami. Lived off of Red Road (57th ave). Down the road from UM.

Still a Miami Hurricanes and Dolphins fan but the 'fins are looking really bad this season.

Back to the subject. I agree with the suggestion that original poster's transmission is shot. I'd say it won't be long before it quits working altogether.

Hey, thanks for the response, yeah I live in Miami, im right off coral way about 2 miles from Brickell I just moved down here in June from upstate New York. Im a Dealer and I bought this car for myself at the Auction I should be able to find someone to fix it at dealer cost If I speak spanish! but I dont so im gonna run the car back to the auction and find another Q if I can. The car is real nice otherwise, some ware on the front seats but thats it. If you have any interest in the car I own if for $1823.00 I will sell it for that. I dont have a car lot down here Im using my NY State Dealer License so I dont have any room to at my house to keep it around or sell the parts which im sure they are worth something. Well just a suggestion.

ThanksJohn

lol!!! "If I speak spanish!"

John....sent ya an email.

yeah....the fins are going to suck again. They need to dismantle the whole program and rebuild. I am so glad that the fins are sticking Ricky with a $6.8 million bill....but now they say he is filing for bankruptcy as he does not have that kind of cash and his two homes down here are not even close to being paid for. His a$$ will be on a street corner pan handling or with the Raiders.

change the fluid and filter, put in transmission flush solvent, pray the problem is varnish in the valve body and clutches are not burned up.
