Hi!

My father recently bought some Silverstar headlight bulbs for his 1995 Q45, and noticed that the service manual shows that the existing bulbs are angled 90 degrees, whereas the Silverstars are straight. Has anyone replaced the factory bulbs with Silverstars, and will they fit? If they fit, did you like them?

Thanks!/s/ Chris Kennedy

i have them in a 96Qt. no fitment issues. love them. do not touch bulb w/bare fingers & wipe w/alcohol after install. the built in level makes alighnment super easy. be sure to be on level ground to begin with.

I have them in my 95t. Are you sure he bought the correct bulbs? Mine were all the same shape as the previous bulbs.

Thanks, everyone, I will check with Dad and let you know. In the meantime I know somewhere on this site there is list of the identification numbers for the right Silverstar bulbs. I'll check it out.

Thanks!

I presume you are talking about the plug connection on the back of the bulb? The low and high beam are separate bulbs.

elwesso posted this information earlier this week:

If you use the 9005/9003 bulbs they are identical to stock. I put them in mine last week. You definitely got the wrong ones.

But once you get them in, they are very nice None of that HID BS for me, thanks.

Thanks, again:

I have relayed all this information to my father, and asked that he re-check his service manual and let me know---he's an ex submarine captain, so it was sort of devilish fun to tell him to go back and check out HIS facts/info for a change!! I wonder if he is confusing the angle of the plugs with the angle of the bulbs...hmmmm.

Cheers,

/s/ Chris

They are exact replacements. No difference in configuration from OEM.

Brian, I remember reading somewhere that the osram ss were different from the sylvania ss models, maybe less blue, but rated better.Congrats on the xa-10b win the other day!

There is a very slight virtually unnoticeable difference observed by some.

Need to upack the shipment.
