Started two weeks ago, the power steering from my Q45 become very stiff at low speed. It is very hard to make a turn. The steering become normal (better) at speed over 10 miles/hour.

I checked the fluid and the pump. The fluid level is OK and the pump works. I suspect that one of the key component such as pressure valve, control unit or solenoid failure.

I need to check the voltage at the control valve but could not beable to identify either the wiring or the valve itself without theservice manual. I tried to purchase one from eBay but was out bit twodays ago. Is there anyone ever use the service from ALLDATADIY.com?Is it worth $24.95 for one year membership? If I know the locationof the valve and the wiring. I am considering to supply a power(useone or two batteries) to drive the pressure control valve to seewhether the problem is temporary fixed. I am hestitating to visitinfiniti dealer because I know they will replace all the relatedparts such as hoses, pump, control valve and control unit at myexpense.

There should be one key part to cause this problem. I suspect one ofthe part is failure: valve, control unit, or the solenoid. I willapprciate it if anyone could tell me where these parts are located atand the connector which I could measure the voltage.

Thanks!

Tom

Are you sure the belt isn't just loose?

Search the previous posts and you will find a discussion of the pump solenoid failure. There is a thread in general for a download of the manual, but the TSB are only available through the nissan-techinfo web site. Alldata is a waste, by previous accounts.

You never commented on the PS fluid's appearance, nor if it has ever been replaced.

Email me and I'll give you the name of my technician in Austin. I only trust the dealer there for rudimentary tasks.
