My beloved 1995 Black / Black Q45 recently was hit in the right-rear. Just cosmetic damage, but now it’s a salvaged title. I had recently had the rack & pinion replaced, new brakes all around, a new radiator and a full plenum job with injector service done. Then I had a custom stereo put in with a fiberglass box molded into the trunk. I figured what the heck, I’ll just keep driving it.
Then a couple of weeks ago she wouldn’t go into reverse any more. I took a transmission shop owner for a drive, and he explained that the clutches are probably bad, and that it will probably stop going forward soon enough. I definitely feel it shifting strange, and I am pretty sure things are going very wrong. It has 156,000 miles on it and the interior is in great condition.
The good news is I found a 1994 Q45 with 113,000 miles on it. It needs a good detailing, and a few typical things like a rack, brakes and a water pump. The great news is that I confirmed that the knock sensors and injectors were done less than 30,000 miles ago at the local dealership.
Due to falling in love with the ’94 Q, I need to decide what to do with the ’95 Black one.
Are there any NICO members in northern California that would be interested in this car, or any specific parts?
I am also wandering if there are any recommendations for parts I should grab off the ’95 just in case I need them for the ‘94.
