Thanks for the great idea. I didn't even think of that.natsoundup wrote:real easy question...have you called infiniti's 800 number so you can get dealer service records...

Jeff, you say the word and I'll find you a perfectly preserved Q in the arid southwest.
Not necessarily so. My one from Brooklyn with 26K was very corrosion free under the chassis and running gear. But I don't think it ever saw any salt. No different form my Texas car in appearance.AZhitman wrote:New York?

He may not have. It was owned by a city offical who had a city car. The only reason he used this car was to go from Brooklyn to Manhattan to dinner. Think about it, 26K miles in 7 years. Also, I may be wrong, but I think Long Island and Manhattan are not subject to the more severe winter of upstate NY, like Buffalo. There, I am sure salt is everywhere in abundance. In my travel across country, Minneapolis, hands down, had the most salt damaged cars I have ever seen. Even the pump island geard bands were rife with rust. In any case, from underneath, there is not difference between it and my TX car which never saw salt, except maybe near the TX coast.90Q45blue wrote:Brian,
If your Q never saw any salt then no one drove it from October-April every year. The entire state of New York has vehicles salting their roads and plowing snow 24 hours a day for the entire winter period. My fiancee goes to school up in NY and it is ridiculous how much salt she gets on her car.
