I'm new to this forum and really like your content. I love my Q45..so much that I bought it 2 years old, sold it after several years (due to the qty of vehicles at that time), called the (new) owner back after a few months and bought it back since I missed it too much! I have almost 200K on it now. I have a couple questions:

1. What is the typical lifespan of the AT transmission?2. I have an Autoxray...havent tried it yet, but wouldn't this sync up with the ECU on this car instead of purchasing the CONSULT?3. BG44k...where can I purchase this?4. Where can I purchase fog lamp assemblies cheaply since mine have roadrash due to highway driving?

Thanks and love this site!

1. transmission life is dependent on how well it was taken care of, specifically whether it was allowed to overheat, and how often it was shifted at WOT. They're good for well over 100K, but I don't know of many that have lasted over 200K.

I have 188K on mine and it still seems to be pretty strong. The first failure mode is usually refusing to go into reverse. The best replacement is a factory reman for about $3000.

4. Try NICO's Infiniti Parts Forum first: zeroforum/172 You might also consider polishing the lenses and then armoring them to prevent future problems.

1.) Depends on maintenance, driving conditions and style, and if there is an auxiliary cooler. Since you posted no history.......reading previous posts will give you an idea.

2.) Doubt it. OBD I is pretty proprietary as opposed to ODB II.

3.) http://www.bgfindashiop.com or

4.) http://www.infinitipartsusa.com and armoring at http://www.stongard.com

Always glad to have a new G50 conservator on board. Welcome
