I have a 1995 Pathfinder that rides like a marshmellow. I want to repace all the shocks but am undecided on a brand. I wouldnt mind raising it 1.5 or 2 inches. I see you can buy shocks that give that type of lift but was wondering if there are any other modifications needed like different springs in the rear?

shocks cant give lift - they only absorb bumps. You can buy shocks made to work in conjunction with a lift but all that means is their extended length is longer than stock, for flex.... the shocks dont actually give lift though.

for your 95, you can lift the front 2-3" for free by simply cranking the torsion bars up. You simply crank the bolt where the rear of the torsion bar attaches to the anchor in the frame. I believe its a 17mm bolt but i could be wrong. It's been 6 months since i've been under a 95.

To correct the angles, you can get upper control arms for the hardbody nissan from rough country.

You can lift the rear with lift springs, available at http://www.4x4parts.com

I dont know about shock brands but my buddy says the bilsteins are good for the 87-95's

Thanks for the quick response. :slap: I knew that I wasnt thinking clearly when I typed that. I forgot all about the torsion bar now for some springs :bigthumb:

ya man youre lucky your year is so easy to lift.... literally just $150 in springs, some easy labor (the front takes a few minutes to lift, the rear takes maybe an hour to install springs)

my 99 has macpherson struts up front, lifting is a nightmare, $400 for 4 springs and many many hours of grueling labor to install...

I couldnt find just the springs on that 4X4 website. Just a lift kit with shocks for $400. Im having a hard time locating just the springs.
