1995 nissan truck transmission

Hi I have a 95 4 wheel drive,5 speed 4 cylinder truck with a bad transmission,I also have a 96 rolling frame with transmission motor etc. the info I get is somethings different between 95 and 96 trannys. the casting # look the same but I havent found the serial #. can someone tell me where to look for the transmission#and if I can make the 96 transmission work in the 95. Im new to Nissan so any help would be great thanks

more info on trans swap, the 95 was manufactured in 94 and the 96 was manufactured in 03/96. vin # on 96 is 1n6sd16y9sc321680 I want to put the 96 transmission in the 95 and seems like the cut off is 3/96 any one know what is different? 1995 nissan 4 cylinder 5 speed. thanks

I did some searching around, and while I couldn't find a definite, definitive answer, I'm 99% sure that it should be a routine job. If you can't find serial #'s then at least try to verify that all the casting #'s (case, bellhousing, output etc.) are the same.

I think you'll be fine... I pulled the part numbers and they are the same from 12/94 to 1/96 build dates.

both trannys have z71c cast into them if that helps. thanks
