1995 Nissan Maxima-Radio Antenna Changeout

I found the floor shop manual directions and followedthem as close as possible.

For some reason, the antenna is not going all the way down.I feel like the antenna cable is in correctly as the motor iswinding it up.

The antenna is still in the air about 7" after the motor has quitworking.

Could the plastic cable to too long? I thought about trimming off2" and seeing the the antenna would go down by the same amt.

If anyone has similiar experiences, please reply.
