I have crossthreaded the larger EGR tube female swivel compression fitting (approx. 3/4" ID but it is metric) which screws to the EGR valve male end
The other end of the tube threads into the exhaust manifold (I think) but is in a tight place to unscrew (when you are under the car
it is behind the crossmember and exhaust manifold). Is there a way to get access or a trick to replacing this item?
I was thinking about cutting the tubing an flaring on a new nut but finding the nut on the internet would be difficult
JB weld works pretty well to keep the air out but its not the best solution
Any suggestions welcome
Thank you

Working to prevent the dreaded PO400 from coming back

Success on correcting my error-To replace the pipe I have to remove the plenum/upper intake manifold for access
The top compression nut of the pipe is screwed in between the engine and firewall close to where the exhaust manifold starts
I used a 15/16" crowfoot and a 1/4" ratchet and a 8 inch cheater bar
(if you can find one, you MIGHT get an extra long 15/16" wrench)
You have to get the tools positioned so you can get a cheater pipe on the ratchet and it is
a little time consuming
It broke loose very nicely and I was able to unscrew it by hand after a couple of turns with the ratchet
Screwing the compression nut on the EGR valve (the other end) was easy
I used anti-sieze on both fittings

Also on the EGR-BPT valve I put on some hose clamps and extra electrical tape on the hose to ensure
an airtight fit. On the EGR-BPT valve, if you blow in the bottom tube, there is a little bit of resistance/pressure
to overcome-which means it is good. The EGR valve I put on was new (since I crossthreaded the old one too on my first shot)

What I FORGOT to do, after getting the top compression nut off, was to run a wire to clean out
any carbon that might have accumulated at the entrance of the exhaust manifold to the exhaust pipe
(as far as possible :ohno: -maybe it won't matter.) Also I could have run a cleaning wire on the exhaust manifold
after taking off the EGR valve itself. I was just so fixated on getting off the tube I forgot.

I can't believe how well this car idles-it just turned 255,555 :mike
Also a shifting issue has disappeared that I had a LONG time
No PO400....yet after about 150 miles.

I think I needed a new egr valve even though It passed the pressure test
(so I am glad I crossthreaded the valve and tube to it...kinda)
I suspect the EGR valve pintle may have been sticking open a little bit (even after
cleaning out the OTHER tube which connects to the upper intake manifold).

I encourage you to hose clamp those emission hoses on the BPT-EGR
and the applicable ones on the throttle body as well to prevent air leaks
