1995 Maxima SE 3.0L 5 speed manual.

This car sits quite a bit, I live in Minnesota so the battery has been drained 3 or 4 times this winter. Battery was shot so I replaced it a few weeks ago. It drained again after sitting for a week. Very strange but when I hook a battery charger to the battery the alarm goes off. It did it on the old and new battery. The only way to get the alarm to turn off is to set the charger to the 2A slow charge. If i switch it to the full 10A charge the stupid horn goes off.

Any ideas why it's doing this? :werd:

No, the alarm is the original system it came with. I checked the fuses and they're the correct ones.

Update, forgot to post the solution to the problem.

I found out the 1995 Maxima has a history of car alarm quirks. When the car loses power and then restore power the alarm doesn't reset properly and the alarm goes off and you can't start the car, It had nothing to do with the charger.

Found this fix on another forum. To reset the alarm do this- Lock the doors and then open the trunk, open the drivers door and start the car. It worked, the car started with no alarm going off. :)
