1995 Maxima Radiator Fans Question

I've noticed a very loud noise coming from the engine bay of my 1995 Maxima that sounds like an air compressor. I had assumed it was the air conditioner compressor since I normally noticed it when I turned on my climate control. However, I just realized that the noise is coming from the radiator fan assembly which rattles very VIOLENTLY when it comes on (although the fan blades do spin). I'm guessing that the radiator fan assembly is bad, so I'll replace it. (Any comments on a replacement model or servicing it myself are welcome!). I noticed that even when the engine is cold, when I turn on the climate control, the radiator fans turn on immediately. Should this happen??!!! I assumed the fans would only come on after the engine reached a certain temperature. If I don't turn on the climate control, the fans come on only after the engine heats up. (and again, the entire radiator fan assembly vibrates violently when it turns on). Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions.

The fans are supposed to come on whenever the A/C compressor is turned on to pull air across the condenser.
You should be able to source an aftermarket cooling fan assembly.
If you are halfway mechanically inclined,it shouldn't be a problem for you to install it yourself.
