Hello folks. I have a late 1995 Maxima with the OBO2 system. It has a hard starting issue when cold. I have changed the spark plugs replaced the power packs, new filter, cleaned the MAF sensor, new O2 sensor, gas cap, negative cable for the battery and new battery. The car runs like new. after running for a bit I can turn off the car and its restarts right away. Something I just remembered is during last winter it would start right away all the time until it started to get warmer. Don't know if that has anything to do with it. I've had this issue since I bought the car three years ago. I thought maybe it could be a fuel pump but then again it runs perfect. any help would be great!

what's OBO2 system? have you had your battery checked if it's putting out enough cold cranking amps? is it the right replacement battery or just something picked up cheap? - asking because i used a civic bat in a voyager for a long time...worked perfect though

Pretty sure he meant OBDII; the switch was in late 1995 to be in time for the '96 model year.

Just guessing, sounds like an emmissions related problem

Check your PVC valve, EGR valve, IACV, throttle body, charcoal canister aswell as the hoses and lines going to and from.

My 1995 had some hard starting issues. After cleaning/adjusting theseitems my car could finally "breathe" again after getting rid of carbonbuildup on these items.

I had the same problem during last six month, but I fixed it finally. The car could start after 3-5 times I tried and I should press the gas padel. Now, it is starting like new one. The problem was at ignition switch, which one supposed to provide the powed to ECM connector 20 (start signal). So, I would reccomend to you to do this:1)Get the Ignition switch out of its location (it is located under your steering weel). Just unscrew 2 screws and you will get it;2)Take the 10 feet wire and connect one end to your battery and other to the black and green wire on your ignition switch.3) Turn the Ignition switch and start the engine. If it starts - that is the problem. Replace the switch(price $25.00)
