Pretty much any engine but a replacement of the original is going to require some wiring work and possibly fabrication work. If you are willing to take some time and spend a little more money, I'd recommend the VQ35. Right now its output is as high as 290 hp, N/A. But for best cost effectiveness, while still getting a power jump, I'd say the VQ35 from the early fifth gen Max. If you just want to keep using the car another 170k miles, find a VQ30 like your car has now and swap that in. That would be the most cost effective-overall, since it will use the wiring harness and hardware your car already has.

Why do you want to do a swap:confused:

Have you done a compression test on your motor? My motor has 156k on it and after lots of nitrous, abuse, and track time compression is still well in the "normal" range. If you want performance, why not do bolt ons? The I30 motor you are thinking of is the VQ30DE-K which is essentially the same motor you have(VQ30DE), but different emissions, intake manifold, and camshafts. That motor will not fit under your hood without some type of modification due to the height of the intake manifold. What mods do you have now? Don't mean to sound snobby, just trying to understand and be helpful.

:D
