Ok Whenever I go to start my car in the cold it'll start and just die right away. I have to give it gas for it to stay started and then for a while when I stop at a light or stop sign the rpms drop to around 500 and the engine shudders. After tis warmed up its fine.Things I've Done:Cleaned the IACVNew Spark plugsChanged the oil Castrol Syntec 5w30(and it doesnt burn oil with 188xxx miles)New battery (900cca)

I just dont know Could it be the fuel pump going out or an O2 sensor?

sounds like carbon build up and the iac is not adjusted correctly. to adjust warm the car up and once its at nornmal temp, disconnect the iac connectors (both purple and brown). t you can then adjust the base idle but turning the black screw on the iac.

I am no expert. I did read that a sticking injecdtor will cause cold hard start and idle problems. Auto Zone has a fair section on the Nissan Maxima in their HOW TO section. They also show you what all the CHECK Eng codes mean. Good Luck hope you get it fixed soon.

Dirty throttle bodies are the most frequent causes. The other is a lazy AAC valve.
