Anyone have this problem? Any tips on how to check pulley alignment?

I think I can only'

1) Check condition of belts /2 each/(PS and AC/Altenator)2) Check tension of belts3) Check pulleys and pulley alignment

When the car is warm/hot the belt does not squeel

I think I cleaned all the power steering oil off of them the other day

As you said, that's about all you can do. As for checking the pulley alignment, eye-balling it should let you know if any of them are off.

I have the same issue. started yesterday after i used a jump start to start the car. i went and bought a new battery thinking it would fix it and now every time i start it squeals. I don't know what to do.

is it the alternator? even after the new battery i had some starting issues once. when i turn the key it nothing happens. after trying few times it started. i dont know where to even begin.

help!

I checked my belts and they appear to be clean andhave no cracks etc

I think if I change the belt this will just throw anotherzone of uncertainty into the problem

I cleaned them with rubbing alchohol and clean nutria fur

I cant get to the problem for 2 weeks till my buddy has time

Will keep posted

It could be the PS belt or the AC/Alternator belt?

i realized that the noise was coming from the passenger side so it couldn't have been the starter. so i took the wheel n the cover off. it was my PS belt. that **** had more crack than Tyrone from the chapelle show. i went and got my PS belt (it was the original nissan belt from 95') and my alternator belt changed. its a safety mechanism to let you know that ya belts are worn off like the brake pads.

now i can finally say I have no noise, new belts and a happy car.I am a changed man.good luck guys. check ya belts.

No more squeels the last 2 days

I gave my Alt/AC/ belt 3 ea 90 degree turns to the rightafter I took off the wheel and covers to check the deflection.

Whoever put on the PS belt may have stripped my tighteningmechanism. Also I couldnt undo the long hex bolt from theback of the pump. I appears to be a little loose but is notslipping.

Like my pappy told me dont makem too tight or u will burn outthe bearings

It was only $80. not bad for both the belts.

belts squeel is normaly either loose, contaminated w oils, dry old rubbber or a component is starting to seize up like an alternator bearing going bad or ac compressor sticking on causing excessive resistance on the belts.
