I think my compressor is dead but need to confirm;1)Anybody hooked up manifold guages to this generationto check their AC compressor (Calsonnic v6)?2) Has anybody tested or replaced a thermal expansion valve?3) Whats the best way to check for leaks?
On my compressor, my low side has about 27 PSI and the high side is only showingabout 75 PSI with AC running. Both of the lines are running hotor warm going into the firewall. The air cond is set on recirculation inside. The water c*** is working ok as the temperature changes to warmer whenthe inside control slides over to hot.
From reading the FSM, the thermal expansion valve could be theculprit but I dont want to take out the dash unless I could diagnosethe symptons better. From what I am reading, the only other alternative isto blow air into it to unstick or open it.
I think my next step, BEFORE opening up the system, is to depressurizeand excavate all the gas/fluids, repressurize with leak detector, and checkfor leaks.
Any wise advice, including dont try AND why, would be appreciated Its hot in Dallas now!
