I installed a KA24DE from a 1995 240sx in my Datsun 610. It has a 3" mandrel exhaust that shrinks down to 2-3/4" for a little bit, then back up to 3" through the muffler. The intake is just a 2-3/4" aluminum tube with an AEM filter. All the emissions crap was removed, other than that, its all stock. Here are the results:

The green line is old original datsun engine, just ignore that. The light blue is the KA with a silencer in the muffler, the red is without the silencer, the dark blue is without the silencer, and the static timing advanced to 22 degrees. The KA does not like to be corked up, it does a lot better at the top end.

I am happy with the results, its a good starting point. Now I will try experimenting with the cams and get some more data.

nice results seems like a healthy motor. and im assuming that the lines with out the 22 degree advance are at stock timing?

Looks like it lost power without the silencer?
