i know bardabe, thank you, i just couldnt resist taking it for a drive, it sounded scary, i hope that it will sound better and sharper with the BOVs installed

i have the blow off valves (2 blitz), i'm just waiting for the weather to get a little better to install them, i only drove the car for the video, next video, you will hear the BOV instead of that sound.....

i'm thinking of installing them during the week, i'll get another video done once it's up and running again.....

Hey, buddy, you might wanna change the ignitor chip on that TT motor. those are the old style and are prone to dying fast. nissan actually recalled them on all north american motors.

also you're probably going to want to do some exhaust work soon too. i have 2 2.5" pipes (no cats) just resonators going to a magnaflow exhaust

what psi you pushing?

That's a great job man. Sort all problems out and enjoy.

P.S. Is it my imagination or you have Ontario license plate ?

It was also great to see Montreal again. Great city. It's a pity it's all in dark

did the TT engine just drop right in without clearance issues? or was there some cutting needed?

engine did not drop right in, the clearance issues are as follows:

1) the mounting brackets of the 300zx are too long and wide, i mounted the engine on the J's mounts and mounting brackets

2) AC line (throttling valve line) was interferering with the turbo intake (the hose that runs from the filter to the turbo), that is still rigged up for now, i 'm going to approach this problem soon, the way to solve it is to get the 300zx lines and install them (the AC compressor is the same in both engines

3) the turbo exhaust pipe on the driver side is slightly interfering with the steering column, i'm approaching this next, the way around it is to redo the down pipe on the driver side

4) the oil filter of the 300zx was hitting the steering rack, to solve this, a remote oil filter kit was used

there is a lot of other issues, if you are interested in the swap, let me know, and be more than happy to help. most of the issues i faced were discussed in the j30tt progress post in this forum, check it out for starters....

I hate to mention this now, but im wondering after all of this if a VH45 swap might have been easier?? It did come with a VH in japan. plus it has as much HP as a twin turbo and weighs less...

I think a VH powered J30 would be nuts!

Until you crank up the boost!!

But, yeah, a V8 J would be cool.

FWIW, my research shows it was only offered with the VH41DE in JDM.

INdeed... sorry for the confusion, but externally the only difference is the alternator placement... which could possibly make a difference?
