1995 infiniti j30 low idle, cold start

hello my name is aaron and i got you email off of a infiniti car owners club, well i was having sum problem with my j30 the problems are car not wonting to start after sitting over night (when cold) i also have a low idle right up under the 1(RPM). i didnt start having these problems til i touched my Coolant Temp Sensor. Soon as i touched the wire the car idled down low! and i only touched it because of my gauge not working inside of my car, so once i touched it gauge started working car idled low and check engine light came on.. i cant find anyone who has a OBD 1 to read my code. could this be a bad temp sensor? should i leave it unpluged? i think the guy who sold it to me unpluged for this reason... coolant gauge is working but hell car is running like trash til it gets warm, after driving it for a while car will crank up with no problem.. but idle low sumtime still any ideals? feel free to email me at [email protected]
