1995 cranks but no start

well the car cranks has fuel has spark just wont fire at all checked timing its dead on to the factory specs twenty of tdc it shut off on the highway and the lifter was hammering away right befor it shut off started four more times after a tow to the house but now it just sits there and cranks any one know why

edit the car has 124k miles on it bought it five months ago did fuel filter spark plugs cap and rotor timing chains and it has drivin great till the other day
