Hey all.I just bought this 1995 Nissan Altima. It has the automatic transmission, 235,000 km.It's my moms old car so i got a good deal at $800.
It used to run great, but it has been sitting for a while and it's going to need a little bit of work now.
It would sputter and stall last week and wouldnt stay running for more than a second, so i took out the MAF and replaced a vacuum line on the backpressure valve on the EGR system and now it will run but not well. The catylitic converter was replaced as well.
Now what happens is it will lope while idling, and it struggles to rev. it won't rev more than 1300rpm, and it will drop RPM's again and want to die.
when we had it on the road last summer, it wouldn't rev past 3,000 rpm and would just have no power whatsoever. i cleaned the maf a bit thinking the problem would be cured, but nope. im thinking it could still be faulty though?
whats everyone think? thanks alot
edit: does anyone know if i can pull codes on this car without a scanner? i know i do have one, but i can't pull it until i can run it when my valve cover comes back from powdercoating
