So after a small hit to my front end, my condenser was warped and the line from it to my dryer was crimped. After fixing the car, replacing the condenser and lines etc, I left the port from the dryer to the condenser uncovered for a couple of weeks, and then today finally finished closing off the system. The A/C hasnt been turned on since the accident, but I'm wondering if the dryer is essentially shot since I had that one port uncovered?

I'm probably not going to be recharging the system myself, as I want it properly oiled up and filled, but if something like the dryer needs to be replaced, I'd rather do that myself before bringing it in/wasting my time.

yea your gonna need a new drier, pretty much any time you open the system you will need to replace the receiver/drier.

doing that can cause ice crystals to form in your ac compressor, causing it to fail. drier/reciever - $30, compressor - $150+.
