Ok I have a built engine obdi1 with deleted emissions on the intake from my 1995.. Will this work in my 1996? what can i do if not? I got rid of egr and other crap to clean up the intake...everyone knows that 1996 is obd2. Im gonna turbo the car as soon as i get the info i need

Will it work, yes, what ECU? What state, do you have emissions or smog?

state is Nc and we dont do the sniffer up the tail pipe. Just plug in under ther dash and check for codes..we clear the cel and drive for 40 miles then come back and they pass. if that dont work then we can show how much we've spent to fix the car and dmv will give us a wavier. so i guess what i also need to no.is the wiring harness the same?..same number of plugs?

Thats because your ODB2 same as here in PA and most every state 1996 and on. If you can not throw a code, and get by on a visual you are good. You must retain the 1996+ ECU which is not as tune friendly.

You won't be able to get a tunes ecu for obd2 that I am aware of. Best you can do is a 95 ecu or a s13 with a conversion harness.

^Bingo. 96 and up in NC has to have an OBDII system in working order, you have to have a 96 ECU in order to pass inspection.

i have two 1995 ecu's. ones a five speed and the other is an automatic..so witch one and who does these harness's? come on nissan family iv've been waiting so long and been threw to much with these three cars to give up now. if i got to go full standalone ecu i will. i no aem is a good route. but costly. greddy emange is good. but i rarely see the numbers id like to have..one day id like 450 or 500 after i upgrade my turbo
