A friend of mine has a rust free Florida 240SX that she might be willing to sell as she's thinking about getting a bigger car.

She does not really want to sell it as she enjoys the looks people give her driving it

Car has somewhere near 100k on the clock and is in pretty decent/clean shape all round.

What sort of ball park figure should she be looking for?

I've told her she needs to take some better pics....

since that car has an automatic transmission, it does not come stock with a limited slip differential. the only models that came with a lsd from the factory were the se's with manual transmission AND abs.

i have a 5sp s14 se, but do not have abs and hence no lsd.

back OT:that car looks to be in great shape. hate to see you friend have/want to sell it.

Mine doesn't have ABS, but it has LSD. I think it was optional also.

Over here in CA prices are ridiculous. I've seen a 95 SX SE going for $10500.It doesn't even matter what KBB say anymore. People are valueing this car because of one thing and one thing only. Simply its an FR and it can drift just like they put in the magazine (Super Street) or movies/animes. I was lucky enough to get mines for $5500. Going rate for 95+ over in CA are 6-8k depending on the seller also and his knowledge of the car.

Well it sounds like she should advertise it in CA then

If anybody from CA wants to buy it for $5500 and make a few bucks come on over to FL and grab a bargain

most people are too lazy to drive/fly out of state for a car in california. even if they can save 2-3K+.

I got my car from Pasadena here in SoCal, and only for 3550. And its a 95 5speed too and was in almost perfect condition minus some scratches on the back bumper. Brand new Falkens too. I guess I just got extremly lucky.

yeah, I don't think it'll ever got for 5k now, especially not an auto. I got mine for $5800 almost 3 years ago in perfect condition.

I seriously advise against getting an automatic... the price will be the same really, just a bit harder to find... Whether or not you want a 5 speed now, I can guarantee if you are the least bit interested in any aspect of a cars performance power, you WILL end up wanting a 5 speed.

Thing is it is hard to find a clean manual these days (even a few years ago).

It probably makes more sense in many cases to buy a well cared for Auto and do the swap.

there should be some kind of law against people ordering an auto for a sports/sporty car at a dealership.

"Oh i'm sorry, that 240sx over there we can't get in automatic for you. But, we do have a really nice Sentra GXE automatic here"

Or it should be that they don't make an automatic at all for certain models, like the Sti for example.

It's all about marketability. Sentra SE-R usually has automatic, but SE-R spec V comes w/ manual only. The type of buyer that would want spec v wants stick, but most normal SE-R buyers want auto.

I 'm glad my s14 is 5spd, but I spent 2=3 months straight trying to find it. That's why I say hell no if someone asks if it's for sale; I'd have too hard of a time finding another 5sp s14.
